OHHS EXCURSION to QUARANTINE STATION.
QUARANTINE STATION. Now known as Q Station (Sydney Harbour National Park) A Beautiful site with a compelling Story and the nearby North Head Sanctuary.
Visit scheduled for Friday 27th September.
Travel Plan: Train to Circular Quay/Ferry to Manly/Loop Bus to Q Station/and North Head or Private Vehicle.
On Site: (1) Quarantine Wander TOUR/11.30am/1 hour plus lunch.
The Quarantine WANDER Tour focuses on the Wharf Precinct and is the most significant place to understand the arrival and daily operations of the residents and explore the heritage buildings discover the stories of migrants through the 19th and 20th centuries and offers a glimpse into the darker side of history, reminding us of the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
From the 1830’s until 1984, migrant ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious diseases stopped inside North Head and offloaded passengers and crew into quarantine to protect local residents.
(2) After lunch we will rejoin the Loop bus and visit the adjacent North Head Sanctuary, wonderful views from North Head and mini walks including Avenue of Honour. The Loop timetable will allow about one hour for this visit.

(1) Join Quarantine Wander TOUR/11.30am/1 hour plus Lunch package at Visitors Centre Cafe and explore the Museum. Visit on site complete about 1.30pm
(2) Rejoin Loop bus to North Head. Departs. 1.50 pm Arrives 1.56pm (Length of visit about 1 hour.)
(3) Loop Bus to Manly Ferry Wharf. Departs 2.26 pm Arrives 2.37pm
(4) Ferry to Circular Quay. Departs 2.50 pm Arrives 3.10pm
(5) Circular Quay to Town Hall Departs 3.29 pm Arrives 3.38 pm
(6) Change train at Town Hall to Oatley. Departs. 4.02pm Arrives: 4.30 PM

Quarantine Management have advised that our preference date, Friday27th September, is currently available. To confirm that date, a deposit of $150 is required.(July or early August) Transfer times between trains/ferry & loop buses have been planned for around 10/15 minutes.
